The Piligrim is the English version of a poem written by the great poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota. This is the poem that changed my attitude towards worshipping God. A Small Helping Hand

I was on the way from Gwarko to Putalisadak. Suddenly it started raining very heavily. I sheltered myself on a traffic island at Lagankhel however I was completely soaked. The road was empty and everybody was beneath some shade. Not very far away form where I was standing I saw a blind man who was yelling in vain, half drenched due to the heavy rain and was trying to catch a bus. There were so many people standing around and no one was offering him some help. I was surprised. I ran towards him and asked him where he had to go and I guided him to a bus. Even the traffic policemen were standing quietly. I did not have an umbrella and neither had I known where the bus would be available, yet I felt it was my duty to help him and so did I. I can’t forget the way he held my hands so firmly when I approached him and asked where would he have to go. I thought I would suffer from cold but I did not. Perhaps the good deed helped me ward off the cold disease.

Lakers Go Down Against Suns

As the NBA teams are vying for the spot in the playoffs, the Lakers lost to the Suns. Star player Kobe Bryant could do nothing in this match as he scored just 17 points. His field goal attempt was 7-26, probably the poorest of his performances in this season. The Lakers in my view depends solely on Bryant and when he is not able to play at his best the team loses whereas the Suns played a very well team game and won. They are at the top in the team standings. Steve Nash this time too had a double double and was well accompanied by Amaire Studomire and Shawn Marion. Amaire Studomire was at his best in this match. If Lakers do not make it to the playoffs it would be a disappointing season to the viewers like me, so I look forward to Kobe’s performances in the later matches to come.

One of my favorite animated movies is Spirit. It is a story of a stallion named Spirit a very stubborn horse. The life of Spirit is very clearly illustrated, from its life as a colt to a time when it grows up to a stallion. Spirit faces so many ups and downs in its life, it has to struggle a lot, it even falls in love, it has to fight a battle against mankind and all these moments are presented in this movie. The background music of that movie is simply superb with Bryan Adams doing the vocal parts. The songs are also composed and performed very nicely with all those orchestras. All in all this is a great animated movie to watch. The concept of those Hollywood movie makers is outstanding as they have put in a story of a horse and the imagination of a horse’s life story is great. Recently I happened to watch a Hindi movie’s last scene which had Mithun Chakrabarty. The sequence was like this. Mithun the hero accompanied by his girl the heroine was running from the bad guy. The bad guy was on a helicopter chasing them. The chase lasted almost 10 percent of the duration of the whole movie leaving the songs. There were no places where they did not hide or dock to escape from the bad guy. The bad guy was firing his machine gun and no single bullet hit the hero or the heroine. He threw grenades but that too did not work. Pistol did not work. The hero and the heroine tried to hide in the jungles but did not succeed as the villain was on a chopper. They even tried to hide behind big boulders on the river banks and that too was in vain. The hero fired back at the villain with his last remaining bullets of his gun and could not hit the villain. The chase was simply very long to annoy anyone watching the movie still the hero and the heroine continued running away and the villain kept on following them with full firing and bombarding. At last the hero picked up a stone and threw it at the chopper aiming at the villain and the stone hit the pilot and thus the chopper crashed with a gigantic bang on a gorge and the villain was killed. Finally they were set themselves free. Wow such an action full of humor and indigestible sequence brings the film to an end. You better watch this one you will laugh your heart out.

To a big surprise I passed the exams whereas my friend failed. I don’t know how it happened but I somehow passed. I really felt pity on my friend. I was the copier and I passed whereas he failed. The Person I Feel Sorry For

The only person I feel sorry in the whole word is the drummer of “Def Leppard”. Too Much Hatred In You Is A Hazard

I am a very descent guy as I describe myself. I believe in humanity and courteousness. Recently I found myself which turned my definition negative which I used to define myself. I have tamed so much hatred toward Indians in me that I found out that I am not me any more. My experience goes this way.

While working in a company in Biratnagar I had a chance to meet a very good man from India. Not being my colleague we became good friends though. In fact he was my supervisor. Our age was somehow same but he was more qualified than me. We used to roam around, and he gave me a helping hand on so many uncountable occasions that I can’t state, he bought me a pack of cigarette which I took it as a souvenir before we departed as my contract was over and so was his. He went back to India. After some times he came to Kathmandu and we were together again at least for a day. He took me to a restaurant in Thamel and took me to a movie at Jay Nepal. He asked me to accompany him for his shopping and I agreed. We went to Thamel looking for a pair of shoes as we had a very difficult time finding one which would fit him. He was more than six feet and no shoes were available of his size. The shopkeepers there would show no interest on my friend just because he was an Indian. None of the shopkeepers were willing to show him the shoes which could probably have been kept in their go down. My friend was surprised by the way he was dealt by those shopkeepers and had to return empty handed. He asked me if all the shopkeepers were always like this in a very innocent way. He had no such feelings like annoy or disrespect towards those shopkeepers. I was so ashamed at how my fellow country men treated an Indian. I just could not help my self from turning to the opposite direction and walk away silently. The best thing that my friend had was he never got humiliated or insulted in any way. The height of pity I had on my friend was unexplainable. I was burning inside myself because of my own feelings. I thought that every other people like those shopkeepers had the same feeling as I did. We hated Indians very much. The filthy mentality possessed by me and my country men is so disgusting. I just couldn’t forgive myself because the hatred I had and specially all other Nepali like me against Indians would have brought the same kind of pathetic feeling in some one else’s too. This was the day I learnt that a human is human. Political boundary, race, ethnics, religion should not come in between a human and a human. The world is a tiny place and those who have come here would live a very short life. Let’s not ruin this short life hating each other.

Dharan

In the eastern part of Nepal lies a small beautiful town called Dharan. The literal meaning of Dharan is a structure stranded on poles where big trees are cut down and laid. These laid trees are then sawed to cut the large trees into beams or planks. In olden times Dharan used to be a place where only those kinds of sawing used to be done. Gradually people started living in this place and the name originated as Dharan. Dharan is one of the most beautiful and most visited place in Nepal. Dharan is not so famous for its historical facts yet it is the most important place. The least polluted and the gateway to the hilly regions is Dharan. The people residing here mostly are engaged in military either the British or the Singaporean. Any place in Nepal cannot be isolated from religious belief as Dharan too is associated with the Budha Subba. It is a highly devoted pilgrim for the Hindus. Lots of devotees come from all parts of the country and the people have faith on Budha Subba and I too am not an exception. I have been there every time I visit Dharan. For the last five or six years Dharan has made a gigantic leap regarding the development of its infrastructure. Recently I had an opportunity to visit the Yalambar Park which is the newest so far. In the middle of greenery on both sides lies the road which leads you to Yalambar Park which is awesome. It is a small park where youngsters as well as every other aged group can be seen having fun. Dharan possess all the quality that a metropolitan city has to. No place is better than Dharan to hang out. It’s a written statement of mine.

Oprah Winfrey Show

As on third of April 2007 the television talk show called ‘Oprah Winfrey Show’ yet again made me cry. I just can’t help myself from shedding a tear while watching Oprah’s talk shows. The program dealt with a lady who was into drugs and some how overcame it. The former addict had also been chosen as an intern in the White House. She also had her relationship ended with her sister due to drugs. After being cured at a Rehab she was invited to the Oprah Winfrey Show and there she met her sister after such a long time. Her sister was crying with tears running down her cheeks and finally hugged her missed sister who was now very clean and sober. This very moment made me cry and I just could not watch any more of that emotion as I stood up and went away from my television set. I don’t have a word for Oprah to describe what she is. Genius, Goddess, Saint, Miraculous woman, nah .. … more than every word I can say.

The most beautiful place I have ever been to, beyond the border is Mirik which is in Darjeeling a part of India. Darjeeling itself is called the ‘Queen of hills’. It is a very lovely place with very less number of populations. There is a large pond in the middle with a bridge. There are tall trees on the banks of that lake. Beside that there is a small pond where one can enjoy boating. A very large open ground is there where you can ride horse. The ground has some small tea shops where you can get the best of tea, the Darjeeling tea. Wow man Mirik is a real picturesque place. I just can’t define the beauty of Mirik within my capability. If only I could spend the remaining days of my life at Mirik, I would sacrifice an opportunity to go the Mars.
