Basantapur

In the heart of the city of Kathmandu lies Basantapur Durbar Square. It is a historical place and is one of the most important site in Kathmandu. Basantapur Durbar Square is not just popular among the tourists but to the local people as well. Basantapur is at its best in the evening. The coolest and most adored hangout for youngsters has been Basantapur for the last few years. Every class of people can be seen enjoying the savor of Basantapur in each evening of all seasons. There are a lot of street vendors selling everything from food to clothes and accessories. Talking about food, the cheapest yet hygienic food is available at Basantapur. The number of vendors is increasing each day. As compared to other places in Kathmandu, Basantapur is relatively clean. Once you enter into the Basantapur area in the evening the aroma of fresh edibles catch your attention more than anything. In fact Basantapur as a whole itself is a delicatessen. For four to five hours the Basantapur area remains highly active and within that short moment it provides you joy worth a whole day. If anyone happens to visit Kathmandu it would be useless until you don’t go to Basantapur on any evening of the week.
