Not Every Kids

I park my motorcycle outside the Bishal Bazaar complex and do my things. After ten minutes or so I return and pull out my bike and ignite it. There is a five rupee charge for parking which I pay and suddenly a small boy comes running towards me with a small piece of cloth and brushes my bike's tank, seats and the mirrors. He gets five bucks from me. This happens to me quite often. On one Sunday morning I did the same routine parking my bike and paying the parking charge. The little boy was nowhere to be seen and so I asked the parking incharge about the boy. "He has gone to school and will be back only in the late afternoon" was the reply. This is the moment where I get emotional, inspired and embarassed. Lot of things started revolving in my head. He would probably be a third or a fourth grade kid yet he is living on his own. He would pay the school fees with the money he collects and fulfill his daily needs I thought. I ponder over it again and nahhhh he would collect the money and buy himself dendrite and cigarettes and enjoy himself came in my mind as second thought. But my second thought just couldn't be right in any way. Had my second thought be true the boy wouldn't mind sitting in that area the whole day rather than going to school. Such a small kid, he inspired me.At that age one would love to buy themselves a spiderman outfit, have ice cream and watch the animated Hanuman series. On contrary to this that poor boy would have to give some of his earning to senior bullying guys and sometimes not get a penny from some of his clients.

Metallica

Metallica is one of the most respected metal band in the world and also one of the most tributed. As far as I know metallica was formed by Dave Mustaine along with Lars and Hetfield I guess. Later on Mustaine was left out of metallica. The new lineup then was James, Lars, Kirk and Cliff Burton however I might be wrong. Later Jason joined the band untill lately he stepped out of metallica and went on to join Supernova with Tommy Lee and Gilby Clarke. Metallica has a new bassist now who is Robert Trujillo. Metallica was always heavy and they are still doing it the good way. The cover songs like "whiskey in the jar" and "tuesday's gone" are worth resinging. For a rock fan Metallica can be a lullaby without which one cannot go to bed. "Turn the page" is also a good song. The riffs they play, the voice of James and the drumming of Lars is simply superb. The most successful album commercially was "Black" which had the hit numbers like "nothing else matters", "enter sandman", "the unforgiven" and "sad but true" along with other rocky songs. The latest album of metallica is "St. Anger" which they brought it with a band after a long break.

Sting In Nepal

Sting the vocalist and the world’s top bassist was here in Nepal sometimes back. People did not recognize him until the boss of a local pub cum jamming station got him. There is a place called “Upstairs” which is known to be the birthplace of Jazz in Nepal, where the band called “Cadenza” performs. Everyone around the Upstairs was pretty excited about having Sting to jam up. They approached him but Sting told them that he won’t perform as he was here for a holiday. Depressed were the guys and gave him a cd which had their songs to Sting just to give an ear. As soon as he heard it he was kinda shocked and agreed to jam up with the cadenza. One night they jammed up at the Upstairs, no commercialization was done and no extra ordinary gatherings were made. They just did it for fun. The local newspaper covered a photo of Sting singing the next day on the front page. Everyone was like “Wow, was Sting really here?”. Sting left a comment on the jam up by saying that he never knew there could be such talented musicians in an around Nepal which is just famous for trekking or rafting.

tab vs staff

Tab is an easy to understand script in music for musicians or a wanna be musician. Tab is simply a six lined figure viz. e B G D A E in which the fret number is written over these lines which indicate which string to be played. For example if 12, 13, 14 is written on the third line then play the twelfth, thirteenth and the fourteenth fret of the third or G string. Tab notaion doesn't require a lot of hard work in studying and playing, a small effort can do. The timing is the only factor which is not defined properly in tab notation.

Staff notation is rather hard to study or play compared to that of tab. This is a pure script of music. It is represented by five lines named e B G D A E and there are five gaps which are also named as F A C E from bottom to top. The note to play is denoted by a dot and sometimes or mostof the time with a tail. Play the note where the dot is spotted. For example, if the dot is in the line then play e or g or b or d or f accordingly and if the dot is in the spaces then play f or a of c or e. These do not represent chords but single notes which I don't need to say I guess.

Staff notation is real and pure form of written music. However some people don't care and simply follow tab notation whereas professional musicians do follow the staff notation.

relegion

No relegion teaches anyone to do harm to others. Neither christianity nor buddhism nor muslim nor hinduism. Relegion is just an illusion created by man himself. Some follow one and some follow the other. There is a rivalry, ego and hatred towards each others which shouldn't have been. What man has to understand is that there is only one relegion which should be followed by all is humanity. Every one is born and gets a life to live so why not take full advantage of living life to the fullest rather than taming hatred. No one should be interfered into their personal matters. Live and let live. Trying to change a man from one religion to another by hook or by crook is a trend currently. This is a real bad practice. Provoking and mocking other's belief only creates chaos, misery and sorrow. Christianity is good so as buddhism, muslim is good and so as hinduism or other religions. The only religion is humanity, peace love and harmony.

Life After Death

Is there any life after death? Who knows the answer? These questions’ answers are totally beyond human’s mind and capability. Scientifically it has not been experimented or proved and how could it be possible to give it a try. Religious beliefs say that there is life after death but what is religion? It’s just an illusion. People try killing themselves to gain freedom from this suffering world but it’s not the solution. How about assuming there is life full or more sorrow and misery than here, after death. People are born in the world and he should be able to adapt the surroundings of the planet. The moment you are born you carry and possess a high expectations from the one and all around you. All those glittering are not gold. Similarly there are nice people around you so you can’t relate them to the ones who is bugging you. If you are being tortured by someone near you don’t think the one a little farther away form you will also torture you. No single human lives a peaceful life, everyone is like you. Even Lord Buddha had to suffer on several occasion brfore he could define life, death and sufferings. The King, The Queen, the Holy Men/Women, The Honest, The Crooks, The Police, The Thieves, The Dulls, The Talented, they all suffer. Everyone has to suffer and struggle. Killing oneself brings more misery than living in this hell.

Leap

Man has come so far regarding the development of materialistic things. Thinking of man producing fire for the first time is ironic. He then gradually started inventing and discovering new things until now where man is trying to migrate to the Saturn. Hundreds of years have been consumed during this period. These achievements probably can't be stored in the largest of data store device. Man then created computers which has made himself a parasite. People stopped making communications just because of absence of telephones or emails. They won't even jot down their ideas, he would use a computer instead. The world is a complex and sophisticated and probably in a point of no turning or looking back. Let's imagine a life without all these gadgets and technologies. How hard it would be to go back to the past and adapt. Adrenaline rushes through one's throat.

Trying To Be Cool

Most Nepali youth don’t know the real story of why Valentine Day is celebrated and they fancy going out for a date with their loved ones and spend a meaningful Valentine Day. Half the people here celebrating this occasion don’t know what is Valentine’s Day and why is it being celebrated. As far as I know it’s a story more than that, a reality, this day is marked for the love shown by Valentine who was departed from his love. Early in the morning I say “long live your love, Valentine” and that’s how I mark the Valentine’s Day. It’s not just about an opportunity to go near to your crush and express what and how you feel about him/her. This day has been a trend of turning infatuation into a real love in our society. These are a bunch of arrogant who try to be cool.

From the second day people go and visit temples like Guheshwari, Sankata, Bhadrakali, Dakshinkali, Shova Bhagwati, Taleju Bhawani and pray homage. The seventh day is Phulpati on which day they prepare flower garlands and do pujas, the eight day is Maha ashtami they do pujas of their vehicles and make animal sacrifices for their vehicles, the ninth day is Maha nawami they sacrifice animals in the bhagwati temples and the tenth day is the Bijaya Dashami tika. On this day people put tika from their elders and receive blessings as well as dakshina in terms of money. This is how the dashain is concluded
