Start Of English Premier League

Yet again the English Premier League has started. It is probably the most loved and watched league in the whole world. The big names in the League like the Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool started their league campaign with a win. But Manchester United did not have a winning start and played a draw against Reading. So far I have noticed Reading has always become a very hard competitor for Manchester United. Christiano Ronaldo is the key player responsible for this winless match. The new signed Nani also could not do well. Now for the rest of the season the key responsible in play making department in the field will go to Carlos Tevez. Manchester United also lacks a quality striker I guess. Besides Rooney there are no other strikers with a killer goal instinct. There is no doubt that Manchester United has got a very good defense and the midfield play is not doing well currently. There is no support for Ryan Giggs in the midfield as the one and only egoistic Ronaldo who always goes for the glory is there as a playmaker who doesn’t make any play in the matches.

In the other match Arsenal got a narrow victory against Fulham from a very late goal. A very silly mistake from the goal keeper Jens Lehman forced Arsenal to concede a goal. The penalty which should not have been awarded was given and the foul which should have brought a penalty for Arsenal was not given. But this is football and this is what football is all about.

Similarly in other matches Chelsea won 3-2 against Birmingham, Sunderland won 1-0 against Totenham Hotspurs which is also a disastrous start for the Hotspurs. I felt good in Sunderland’s victory and the manager a former Manchester United player seemed to be happy with this winning start. After these fixtures Chelsea tops the standing on a goal difference basis. The bonfire has already started in the English Premier League and there are a lots of good matches to be witnessed in the future.
