AFC President Cup Final Nepal VS Dyanamo Dordoi

The final of the AFC President Cup which was played at Punjab Stadium in Pakistan brought a disappointing result but a praiseworthy one as well for nepalese. This is the first time that Nepal had been able to reach the finals but couldn’t make it to the winner. Not bad though. The winner of the Nepali Football League Mahendra Police Club represented Nepal in the tournament and reached the finals. Mind you, Nepal has never crossed the semi-finals in this tournament. This is the first time that they reached the final but lost to Dyanamo Dordoi which was th tournament’s favorite. The game was not bad either as the final score was 2-1. Nepal was 2 goals down until they scored 1 and brought a sigh of hope in creating history. But Dynamo Dordoi’s defense was too tough, still they showed a fighting spirit. They lost the tournament and could not create history, nevertheless they played at their best in the tournament. Hats off to the Mahendra Police Club. If this trend goes on, who knows one day they might bring the cup with them to us.
