IRB Rugby World Cup France 2007

The reigning champion England played against Australia an all time favorite team in these kinds of tournaments. The game was a low scoring one in which England went through the quarter finals with the final score of 12 to 10. The match was an intense one as the game could have gone either ways. The English total all came out of penalties and Wilkinson was the one who scored all the twelve points through penalty. The match produced just one try and that came out of Australian team. The match was well balanced, had Mortlock converted the penalty in the 78th minute, England would have a hard time overcoming the Australian score with so little time remaining. This penalty miss saw England breathing a sigh of relief and eventually the victory as well. The whole credit doesn’t simply go to Wilkinson who scored all the team’s total but the defense was too good for Australians. The tackle English players made with the forced turnovers were the key factors in England’s victory. Now the thing to see in a few days time is that would England be able to defend their title or not? For more information on the IRB Rugby World Cup 2007 France log on to www.rugbyworldcup.com.

Australia VS India Third ODI

The third one day international played between India and Australia was a one sided match I should say. The world champions proved to be the world champions. After winning the toss Australia decided to bat first and made a good total of 290+ runs. Andrew Symonds was the one who slaughtered every balls and Michael Clark too did some pillar foundation for the team as well.
When the Indian batsmen came to chase the total, the same butchering was done by the Australian bowlers. Besides Yuvaraj Singh the rest of the Indian batsmen could not do anything but kneel down to the Australian bowlers. The first match was washed away by rain though Australia had a better hand on that match, the second match was won by Australia quite convincingly and this third one also went in Australia's favor. There are now four matches to be played until the winner of the cup be determined. So there is still a chance for Indian team to give a fight in this series.

South African Cricket Team

South Africa is one of the favorites to win any championships in cricket. The South African team is very well balanced team in all departments. Whether it is about bowling, fielding, batting everything is good but they are an unlucky team. Being such a good team they did not reach the T-20 World Cup Final. The history also proves it all. In the ICC World Cup as well they have never crossed the Semi-final stages. Though there is no fault in the team but it’s a fate I should say. They once reached the semi-final of the world cup when England beat them where Duck Worth Louis method was applied. Had the rule been not applied South Africa would have beaten the English team which the cricket lovers know. Following this World Cup South Africa again crashed out of the preliminary rounds when they hosted the World Cup jointly with Zimbabwe and Kenya. In the next edition of the World Cup too, they were eliminated in the semi-final by Australia. This is the game which no one would forget. The final score was leveled but due to the run rate Australia proceeded to the final and won the ICC World Cup as well.

In this T-20 World Cup too, they were a very good team but just couldn’t go beyond the semi-final. The likes of Graeme Smith the skipper, hard hitter Justin Kemp, technically sound batsman Hershelle Gibbs and A. B. D. Villers too could not do anything. Nevertheless South Africa is a very good team in fact the best and some day they will lift the cup and dominate the world of cricket like the Australians are doing right now.
